Truffle finds candidate stores in the public Common Crawl index, then confirms each one is a live Shopify store by reading its public storefront. Apps and themes are detected from the storefront code. Cities come from the store's Impressum. Stores are re-checked every week; closed stores drop out. Counts cover stores we have confirmed, not every Shopify store in Germany.
